WHICH MERMAID TAIL SHOULD I BUY?

Mermaid Mermaidtail

There is not an easy answer to this question since all monofins and mermaid tails are built for different purpose and different swimming ability. There is no such thing as a perfect mermaid tail or mermaid fin for everyone.

There is not an easy answer to this question since all monofins and mermaid tails are built for different purpose and different swimming ability. There is no such thing as a perfect mermaid tail or mermaid fin for everyone.

For example, if you want to dive long and deep, I would recommend a large and weighted freediving monofin - again, there are lots of different options depending on the budget - they can cost up to $1,500 - swimming technique and your goal.

If you want to look amazing, but don’t worry too much about swimming efficiency, then a silicon tail is best. They’re heavy and very, very expensive but look very, very realistic.

If you want to manoeuvre around quickly and do tricks such as in synchro-mermaiding, a more compact fin is the best. If you love body surfing and you’d like to make it even more fun, fins without a tail are the way to go. As long as they are strong and flexible and made from material which won’t break they are great for our oceans! They are easy to take off and put on, which can be really useful in the surf, believe me!
